Games You Might Not Have Tried #8 – Find New Games – Extra Credits
The first game explored in this video was Thea which is basically civilization’s exploring aspect. Next up was Axium Verge a game that is much like the old Metroid game. Mordheim: City of the Damned an interesting RPG game in which you have a team that progresses through the world getting illnesses, collecting treasure, dying with no way of coming back, and exploring. Probably the weirdest out of the bunch is Static Speaks my Name which takes you through a house where nothing feels quite right pictures everywhere of the same thing and quite creepy music in the background to keep you feeling unsettled. As for this next game, it’s also creepy but equally gorry and not afraid to show the bad sides of humanity this game being LISA. Finally on the list is Tearaway Unfolded using the Playstation controller to its fullest. This game using not only the general controller mechanics but the motion controls as well from swiping to make wind to pointing your controller at a location on the screen to produce light.
Please keep in mind that I have never played any of these games and am solely going off of what was told in the video. Preferably my favorite game on the list is Tearaway so here is a link to it if you want to check it out :
Undertale : This game took some very old mechanics and gave players a beautiful and complex story… An interesting mechanic in this game gives you the chance to befriend or talk your enemies out of fighting. I’ve heard many good things about this game and I’m sure it’s very good, I’ve never played it though.
Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide : This game may be a bit poorly designed when it comes to graphics, but this game is actually very fun. The default difficulty is actually extremely difficult and that makes this game interesting. I’ve played this and it’s very fun to play with friends.
The Beginner’s Guide : This game may not be too crazy and action packed like other games, but it really gives the player an emotional and philosophic experience that other games can’t really give. I’ve never played this game, but it looks VERY interesting and I might actually play it.
Read Only Memories : A Cyberpunk Adventure game, it is similar to Starbound in a way, when it comes to character design it is very unique. This game gives the player very interesting dialogue between them and NPCs. This game looks great, the art is like eye-candy for me… Never played it though.
The Black Watchmen : This game is VERY unique, giving the player an incredible ARG that has some interesting and frustrating puzzles. There are some horror elements to this game as well. This game’s art is new to me and looks amazing though I’m not too into puzzles, never played it though.
Mini Metro : The game is a very simple little puzzle game that begins to look more and more complex as it’s built by the player. Looks like a lot of fun for such a simplistic little puzzle game imo.
The Missing – A game that’s rough around the edges but has a bunch of metaphorical meaning
Shift Quantum – A puzzle game about positive and negative spaces and how you can’t have one without the other
Occupy White Wall – An art gallery MMORPG where you can explore, interact, and even create your own galleries
I ♥ Hue – A mobile puzzle game about matching colored blocks to create a giant gradient
Wandersong – Simplistic but unique game about loving who you are and making an impact on the world, even when it seems impossible
I have played I ♥ Hue and it is a fun game that is also relaxing. You start with a gradient that has four different colors in each corner. It divides up into blocks and moves, with some staying in place, and you have to figure out where the colors go. It’s a mobile game that I always go back to and enjoy every thing I play.
Lone survivor – A 16-bit survival horror game that has a silent hill feel to it and is much more than any horror game that’s only horror because it has zombies in it.
Dayz – A game that is heavily based on the true struggles of what it means to survive whilst also worrying about other players and zombies trying to kill you or steal your gear this game whilst previously having many bugs has also recently had a big rework of its whole core and I would recommend to any who has the time to invest in trying to get gear and build an awesome base. (but if you would rather have speedier gameplay they also recently added modded servers to speed up the pace too so there’s that)
A valley without wind – A procedural game that has the potential for hundreds of hours of gameplay even more if you can work past the clunky controls and other small bugs in it.
Legends of Grimrock – A 1st person dungeon crawler game with many different aspects including in-depth puzzle solving as well as combat against an array of different creatures.
Avernum escape from the pit – A slower retro RPG for your pc and Ipad with a vast range of dungeons to explore
Atermis – A game best suited on LAN where you and about 5 other friends have each of their different roles to manage with interfaces that you’ll need to navigate your starship across the cosmos (But beware it does have some bugs to watch out for)
Crusader Kings 2 – A medieval strategy game where your choices determine the outcome of everything and the main objective is to keep your dynasty safe whilst you crusade through different lands
I have not played any of these games except Dayz and to me, it was worth every penny spent on it and I would definitely recommend playing the game if you have the hours to invest in it.
Lone Survivor – It is a 16 bit horror game with a silent hill feel to it.
DayZ – It is an Arma 2 mod, that make it a zombie apocalypse. It plays like an actual zombie apocalypse. It has a few of Arma’s glitches but it also has its big maps and attention to detail.
A Valley without wind – It has tons of depth and almost infinite hours of game play but it has clunky control scheme.
Legend of Grimrock – It is like ultima underworld or dungeon master but with a modern look. It is a 1st person dungeon crawl that has many puzzles.
Avernum escape from the pit – It is a bit slow caomapred to other games but for iPad it is one of the best rpg’s. It has an interesting story line with many different choices during combat, and a huge world to explore.
Artemis – It is a LAN game but has internet play. Each person plays a role of one of the deck officers. Each person has a unique interface.
Crusader Kings 2 – It is more about manipulating interpersonal relationships and not battles. Forming a lasting dynasty is more directly the goal of the game.
I haven’t played any of these games but i think that dayZ would be really fun to play and there would be a lot of things to do so it wouldn’t get boring.
The graphics of the game really set a creepy mood for the game
Enter The Gungeon
The objective of this game is to kill away monsters through series of levels
The game is not always spooky
Night In The Woods
This game manages to fill you with the real world dreads of adulthood, economic tragedies, depression and death
Onimishu – Warlords
combat focused game
good demon graphics
We Know The Devil
play as a group at a summer camp that figures which two characters will stay together and which ones will sit out in a life or death situation
FEAR is a Frankenstein-monster mashup, first person shooter and a Korean horror film that includes tactical gameplay, good weapon selection, environmental distraction, and excellent bullet time mechanics
You are locked in a room with a mysterious puzzle box that unlocks secrets to the next clues to escape the room, almost like a real life escape room
There is not a single word of dialogue in the game
Puzzles connect together to create a story
This game shows how creepy having a phone could be. Game represents something creepy hacking a phone.
A very creepy, odd detective game that has a art punk acid trip theme to it.
Games I would really enjoy playing are Simulacra because I like how you can control what happens next in the game and shows how creepy and unsafe phones can really be and The Room because I like solving puzzles with a creepy vibe to it.
The Hunt is a 2D maze/adventure game in which you start in the location called the Void. Once you have exited the Void you are back in the real world where you venture off to the town to find out what really happened to you and the people in the town. This isn’t the full version but gives a good idea of what the game is about.
